Up now on vimeo is the new video for the latest Future Islands release, “The Ink Well” released as a split 7″ on Friends Records with Lonnie Walker. The video is directed by Theo Anthony. It takes us through a little journey that seems to match the song perfectly. Going through what appears to be cities, churches and fields in Europe, with the person’s back facing us, until it eventually erupts into a climax of fireworks and other explosions. Really appropriate video for the song. I’ll be seeing them live (they’ve replaced New Jersey as the thing we cover most frequently as of late) tonight at the Ottobar, which should be a wonderful time.
