Stream: Cloud Nothings – “Should Have” (Plus Other Info)

It’s always a good day when you get back from being out in the cold and you find a song from one of your favorite artists just waiting to be listened to. That was today with “Should Have” from Cloud Nothings. This track, available for stream after the jump, displays more of Dylan Baldi’s awesome workmanship and builds a quality base along with “Understand At All” for the self-titled full-length due out January 25 on Carpark.

“Should Have” displays some of Baldi’s trademark quirkiness, but falls back into a laid-back pop punk mold. This song could easily be from some crappy local band five years ago, but Baldi along with producer Chester Gwazda use emotion and background riffs to make the track pop and present it in a way that will have it stuck in your head for the rest of the day.

But wait! There’s more! Cloud Nothings will be releasing a picture disc 7″ single of “Should Have” b/w “I Know (You’re All Done With Me)” via Carpark on January 28, days after the self-titled’s release. So definitely keep an eye out for that. There’s just seems to be more and more from these guys, and the excitement keeps building as January 25 gets closer and closer.
